National Preservation Conference 2008

 

"Preservation in Progress" is the theme of the National Preservation
Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma, October 21-25, 2008.  We hope you will
mark your calendar to attend.  We are still soliciting proposals for
educational sessions; the deadline for submissions is January 11, 2008.

National Preservation Awards

 

Each year the National Trust celebrates the best of preservation by
presenting National Preservation Awards to individuals and organizations
whose contributions demonstrate outstanding achievements in historic
preservation.  The 2008 National Preservation Awards winners will be
announced on October 23, 2008, at the National Preservation Conference
in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The deadline to submit nominations for National
Preservation Honor Awards, Trustees' Awards, National Trust/HUD
Secretary's Award and National Trust/ACHP Award is March 1, 2008.

Preservation Leadership Training

 

The next Preservation Leadership Training (PLT) will take place June
21-28, 2008, in Portland, Maine.  This PLT is offered in partnership
with Greater Portland Landmarks and made possible by the generous
support of the Fidelity Foundation and the Davis Family Foundation.  The
deadline for receiving applications is March 31, 2008.  

 

PLT is an intensive one-week program that provides participatory
learning experiences in leadership and organizational development.  PLT
is for board members and staff of preservation organizations and
agencies, Main Street communities, and others who are in a position to
influence preservation efforts in their communities.  For information on

limited number of scholarships are available.
