Rereading this in your email made me realize that a gerund had been left
out (establishing protection criteria) as had an s after proposal, so I
made the corrections and reposted the document to the website.

Subject: [Calclg-l] 2008 CLG Grants Announcement
Dear CLGs,
The 2008 CLG Grants Manual and associated forms and links are posted on
our website at http://ohp.parks.ca.gov/pages/1072/files/grantman08.pdf .
Before you get started on your application, please take the time to go
through the two PowerPoint presentations: Writing a Great CLG Grant
Application and Good Grant Management. Also, please read the grants
manual carefully-all of it!!
We've added a couple of new things this year. The first is an
additional category for bonus points (10), this one for disaster
planning and response.
The 2007 fires in Southern California and other recent natural disasters
have demonstrated the need for inventories of cultural resources for
disaster planning and response. Bonus points will be given for surveys,
GIS mapping, and protection criteria for historical and archaeological
resources located in areas with a high potential for natural disasters.
Proposal seeking bonus points in this area must indicate how the
information will be made available to first responders
We're also concerned that many CLGs just aren't applying for grants, so
we will add 5 points to any CLG application where the CLG not applied
for or has applied but not received a CLG grant within the last three
grant cycles. We call this CLG development points.
The manual lists OHP staff you can call or email to discuss your grant
ideas. Please take advantage of this offer to talk over your proposal
with us.
Some of you, in the past, have expressed concern that you do not have
the necessary match for the grants. This is a reminder that
staff/volunteer/review committee time and costs can be applied to the
match.
And, finally, the due date for the applications to be at the OHP (not
postmarked) is Monday, April 28, 2008 at 5pm; 3 hard copies, no faxes,
no emails.
