[Calclg-l] CLGs receive APA Awards

Congratulations to the City of Ontario who received a 2007 Best
Practices Award from the California Chapter of the American Planning
Association (CCAPA) for its development the California Historical
Resource Inventory Database (CHRID), "A cutting-edge, web based, full
service, historic preservation tool that standardizes and streamlines
historic resource documentation, management and distribution. . .The
database will help integrate historic preservation in the planning
process by providing a one-stop shop to view geographic and property
details of a city's historic resources."

 

The CHRID was developed using CLG grant funds and is available to all
local governments at not charge, although there may be costs associated
with its installation on individual servers. More information about the

Congratulations also to other CLGs receiving CCAPA awards:

 

*	San Jose - 2007 Comprehensive Planning/Large Jurisdiction Award
for development of the Vision North San Jose comprehensive plan, adopted
in June 2005.
*	Palo Alto - 2007 Innovative Use of Technology Award for its GIS
Parcel Report application which provides the information needed to
determine the true development potential of a parcel. 
*	Glendale received a 2007 Comprehensive Planning/Large
Jurisdiction Award of Merit for its Downtown Specific Plan & Mobility
Study.
*	The City of San Diego for its Downtown Community Plan, the first
of 24 community plans to be updated using San Diego's new strategic
direction. 
*	Riverside received a 2007 Neighborhood Planning Award of Merit
for its University Avenue Action Plan, adopted in January 2007.
*	Betsy McCullough, AICP, planner with the City of San Diego,
received the 2007 Distinguished Leadership/Professional Award.
