** High Priority **

Hi- In our Zoning Ord. ( http://www.ventura.org/rma/planning/ordinances_regs/ords_regs.htm , click "Non-Coastal Zoning Ord., Section 8107-37) we have adopted new uses and breaks for historic properties:

1. New uses
Interpretive centers- designated sites that market the local site history on site. Sell related items, have events, weddings, etc. to make money to assist in preserving the local history. We don't have any of these yet or the use below.

-Historic repository- a place to relocate historic building, etc. that would otherwise be demolished. We don't have any new ones in the County unincorporated area yet, but Oxnard has an extremely successful one in Heritage Square ( http://www.ci.oxnard.ca.us/Department.aspx?DepartmentID=22&DivisionID=109 )with about 12 houses and a church and Fillmore has their Railroad center with a house, Greene and Greene bunkhouse, and railroad equipment. ( http://www.conejovalleyymca.org/indian/html/fillmore_historical_museum.html )

- Also now allow museums and bed and breakfasts in zones not allowed before

2. Breaks (Deviations)

We allow deviations from the normal Zoning Ord. standards for designated sites. We allow Landmarks to create substandard lots. Only Landmarks. Also we allow deviations for most standards for Sites of Merit, Points of Interest and Landmarks.
